What you pay
One price per recipient, in Canadian dollars, from a prepaid balance.
- Each accepted recipient is billed once, To, CC and BCC alike. A recipient the compliance check refuses is not billed.
- No monthly fee, so a quiet month costs only what you send.
- US providers typically bill in USD. The cost in Canadian dollars then moves with the exchange rate, and a card may add a conversion fee.
- Many US providers sell monthly plans with an included volume. At a steady, high volume, a flat plan can cost less than paying per recipient.
Moving from a US email API
For most integrations, you change the base URL and the key.
POST /v1/emails takes the fields developer email APIs commonly use: from, to, cc, bcc, reply_to, subject, html, text and attachments. With the Node SDK, import from @honkio/node instead. The migration guide in the email docs lists the known differences, such as ISO 8601 dates for scheduled sends and the CASL rules for commercial email.
